How to Do Straight Arm Lat Pulldowns

  1. Grip the bar with a pronated grip (palms facing away from you), slightly wider than shoulder-width.
  2. With straight arms, push the bar down in front of you by contracting your lats.
  3. Slowly return the bar to the starting position.

Commentary

The straight arm lat pulldown is an exercise that isolates the work to your lats and other muscles that pull your upper arm closer to your body. For a longer range of motion and better muscle contact, you could try to lean slightly forward and bend your knees.
