How to Do Smith Machine Skull Crushers

  1. Place a flat bench under the smith machine bar.
  2. Lie on the bench with your feet firmly on the floor, the bar above your forehead, and grip the bar with a narrow overhand grip.
  3. Unrack the bar from the safety lock and hold it directly above your chest with arms extended.
  4. Lower the bar in a controlled manner towards your forehead by bending your elbows.
  5. Press the bar back up to the starting position by extending your elbows.
  6. Repeat for reps.

Commentary

The smith machine skull crusher is an excellent exercise for isolating and strengthening the triceps, providing added stability from the machine’s fixed path.
