How to Do Scap Pull-Ups

  1. Grip the bar with a pronated grip (palms facing away from you), slightly wider than shoulder width.
  2. Inhale and pull your shoulder blades down and together by activating the muscles in your back. Pull your shoulders away from your ears.
  3. Exhale, relax the shoulder blades and let them come up again.

Commentary

Scap pull-ups mimics the first part of a pull-up, and can be a useful exercise for learning what muscles you need to use in a pull-up.
