How to Do One-Legged Leg Extension
- Adjust the machine so that you are correctly positioned. Your knees should be in line with the machine’s joint.
- Extend your knee with control until the working leg is completely straight. Keep the other leg still and relaxed in the starting position.
- Slowly lower the weight again.
- Finish all reps on one side, then switch legs.
Commentary
Leg extension is an isolation exercise where it is easy to focus on the quadriceps.
Be careful when adjusting the machine so that it suits your body. Besides getting your knees in line with the machine’s joint, try to get the longest comfortable range of motion.
