- Lift a dumbbell up to a straight arm over your head.
- Lower the dumbbell down behind your head, while keeping your upper arm still and vertical.
- Reverse the motion and extend your arm again.
Standing triceps extension is an effective exercise for isolating the tricep muscle. Common variations of this exercise is to use a small barbell or a heavier dumbbell which you hold with both hands.
